Arfiansyah is currently a PhD student in Anthropology of Islamic Law at Leiden Institute for Area Studies of Leiden University, Netherland, and expected to submitted his research on the Islamic Triangle: The Relationship of Adat, Sharia Law and Civil Law. He obtained his M.A from McGill University in 2010. His publication includes Syariat Islam, Politik, dan Perempuan di Aceh published by UIN Ar-Raniry, 2013 and Politization of Sharia law: Behind the Implementation of Sharia Law in Aceh, Article jurnal published by Media Sharia in 2011.
Research interest: Anthropology, Legal pluralism, Islamic Studies, Politic of Islam and Gender.

Asmaul Husna (Una) holds a MCRP, Master of Community and Regional Planning, from University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), USA in 2014. She completed her bachelor degree in Urban and Regional Planning at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Surabaya in 2010. Una has some working experiences with the government, non-government and research institutions such East Java Development Planning Agency (Bappeda Jatim), Institute for Research and Community Service of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (LPPM-ITS) Surabaya, and The Asia Foundation.
Research interest: Disaster management including risk reduction and mitigation, coastal zone management, climate change initiative, environmental planning, and special issues in planning like conflicts, gender and good governance.

Asrul Sidiq holds a M.Sc in Regional and Rural Development Planning from Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand (2013). He completed bachelor degree in Regional and City Planning at Bandung Institute of Technology, Bandung (2010). Asrul has some working experiences with the government organizations such as Aceh Public Works Department (Dinas Cipta Karya) and Aceh Development Planning Agency (Bappeda).

Cut Aja Fauziah completed a bachelor degree in Chemistry from Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, Indonesia. She obtained a M.Eng.Sc in Metallurgical Engineering from Curtin University, Western Australian School of Mines, Western Australia. Her research intersts are in metallurgy, mining especially in social issues related to mining, sustainable development and gender and community. She has working experiences in Non-Governmental Organisation such as Flower aceh, which focuses on women strengthening and empoweremnt. She has also experienced as a researcher, especially in gender and community issues at Aceh Research Training Institute, and as a community facilitator at Community Empowerment Agency (Badan Pemberdayaan Masyarakat).
Research intereset: Metallurgy, Mining especially social issues related to mining, Sustainable development, Gender and community.

Fahmi Yunus has ten years experience in communication, media development, peace building, and collaboration as an activist, NGO leader, trainer, lecturer, and researcher. He also produced forward-looking inter-sectoral studies within the framework of “economic development, disaster risk reduction, conflict resolution, communication and education and a founder of research NGO, non-formal education institution for the children.

Faishal Zakaria is a tenured faculty member at the Department of English, School of Teacher Training & Education of the Ar-Raniry State Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIN Ar-Raniry) Darussalam – Banda Aceh. He earned his MA in TESOL from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), USA in 2008. Besides teaching at his alma mater, Faishal has also served as a teacher trainer for the British Council Indonesia. With the supports from the Regional English Language Office (RELO) of US Embassy Jakarta and the International Language Center of the University of Indonesia’s School of Humanities, he is currently running the Microscholarship Access Program in Banda Aceh.
Research interests: Teacher professional development, identity and language learning and teaching, postmethod language pedagogy, and second language writing pedagogy.
IbnuMundzir
Ibnu Mundzir obtained his MA in Community Psychology and Social Change from Pennsylvania State University (2011) with a full scholarship from Fulbright Tsunami Initiative Program. He completed bachelor degree in psychology at Universitas Indonesia (2004). Mundzir teaches Disaster Management and Peace Psychology in psychology undergraduate program in Aceh. He has been working on post-conflict psychosocial support, disaster emergency response, disaster risks reduction, and HIV/AIDS programs with various national and international organizations in Aceh, North Moluccas, Poso and Jakarta. Since 2014, he has been the research manager of the Aftermath of Aid, an Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) and ICAIOS research collaboration assessing the effectiveness and sustainability of post-tsunami rehabilitation and reconstruction in five different sectors: demographic, disaster risks reduction, governance and civil society, housing, and livelihood.
Research interest: Disaster management, particularly on disaster risks reduction, post-disaster/conflict mental health, post-disaster social changes, and program evaluation.

Muhajir Al Fairusy earned his MA in Anthropology of Culture from Gadjah Madja University in 2012. His first training in ethnography and research even started earlier in 2008 under the supervision of a Dutch anthropologist, David Kloost. A side of doing research in history and anthropology, he is also an Adat practitioner and member of Aceh Adat Board of Aceh Province, where he lead Research and Publication division. Al-Faisury is also a writer and columnist. His writings, which mostly draw ethnographical perspective, were published in various local and national mass media and also in magazines of some provincial’s offices. His research main interest is the hinterland of Singkel costal community. Al-Fairusy wrote Polmas dan Adat Aceh (collective writings, 2010), Kebudayaan Tepi Laut dan Pesisir Aceh (2014), and Retrospeksi Kebudayaan Himespheric Islam di Zawiyah Tanoh Abee (2014). Now, He is registered as PhD student in Anthropology at Gadjah Madja University.

Muhammad Riza Nurdin (Riza) obtained his BA in Islamic Studies and Arabic from Al Azhar University, Egypt and then completed a Master Degree in Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Passau, Germany. Riza ahs some working experiences with international organizations during post-tsunami programmes in Aceh such as the British Red Cross and the American Red Cross.
Research interest: Sociology and Anthropology of religion, Islamic and the West, social/religious movements and Political Islam.

Muhammad Sahlan completed his MA in Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies from Gadjah Mada University in 2003. Since 2006 he becomes faculty member of Ushuluddin Faculty and heads Sociology of Religion Department. Before joining ICAIOS, he worked with Forum Peduli HAM, LaKaspia Institute, Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution Studies of Islamic University of Ar-Raniry, Institute for Islamic Studies and Peace (LaKIP) and Indonesian Society and Empowerment (INSEP) Jakarta (until present). His publications are, among other,  Management Konflik Berbasis Sekolah (Alvabet, 2015), Studi Agama (Ushuluddin Publishing, 2014), Kerukunan Umat Beragama (Ushuluddin Publishing 2013), and Mediasi Konflik Aceh Belajar dari HDC, (Ar-Raniry Press, 2012). 
Research interest: Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies, Sociology of Religion, and Islamic Studies.  

PakMunawar
Munawar is a statistics lecturer at Statistics Department of Science Faculty of Syiah Kuala University Banda Aceh. He has worked for some institutions, agencies, and companies such as Unilever Indonesia and UNIFEM (now UNWomen) holding various positions. Munawar is an Aceh Government scholar with a master degree in applied statistics from Economics and Administration Faculty of the University of Malaya – Kuala Lumpur.   He did his B.Sc in Mathematics at Mathematics Department of Science Faculty of Syiah Kuala University.
Research interests: Biostatistics, Demography, Econometrics, and statistical methods. As a statistics trainer, he works with statistical package like SPSS, SAS, S-Plus, Minitab, E-view etc.

Rizanna Rosemary is a faculty member in Communication Department at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Syiah Kuala University. She completed her master degree in Health Communication from the Media and Communication Department, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Sydney, Australia. Besides teaching, she is currently an active researcher for the Center of Tobacco Control Studies (CTCS) in Aceh and Indonesia Tobacco Research Alliances (ITRA) which are affiliated under the Tobacco Control Support Center (TCSC-IAKMI) and Indonesia Tobacco Control Network (ITCN), and also an active researcher at the Internationnal Centre for Aceh and Indian Ocean Studies (ICAIOS).

Sehat Ihsan Shadiqin | sehat.ihsan@acehresearch.org
Sehat Ihsan Shadiqin attained  his MA in Islamic Thought in 2004 from Graduate School of State Islamic University of Ar-Raniry, Banda Aceh. He did social and religion researches in Aceh and Java and participated in various national and international conferences. He is also among those who successfully introduced ethnographical research for public policy to Regional Planning Bureau of Aceh Province in 2013. The program is named Ethnography for Poverty Studies. Sadiqin authored Tasawuf Aceh (2008), Adat dan Dinamika Politik Aceh (Book Chapter, 2010), Serambi Mekkah yang Berubah (Book Chapter, 2011) and Cosmosufism (2013). His jurnal publications are, among others, Tasawuf di Aceh: Sebuah Peta Kronologis (2009),  Syariat dan Masyarakat Kosmopolitan (2012), Thariqat dalam Masyarakat Jawa Pedesaan (2011), and Agama Pran Soeh (2013).
Research interest: Social culture and religiosity that covers wide range of issues such as tasawuf/tarekat, ethnicity, children and gender, adat movement, popular culture, and Islamic studies. Since 2006, Sehat Ihsan Sadiqin serves as a lecturer at Sociology of religions at the State Islamic University of Ar-Raniry. Now, he is doing PhD program in Islamic Studies at State Islamic University of Sunan Kalijaga, Yogyakarta.

Zatil Afrah Athaillah attended Bogor Agricultural University, majoring Food Science and Technology from 2006 to 2010. Afterward she continued her education to Oregon State University and gained M.S in Food Science and Technology in 2013. Her research experience are related to toxicity evaluation of food components and bio-plastic development from fish protein.
